  • Gulf Stream 11-17-2008 - Posted to LiveLine Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • Headed out to the Gulf Stream for a try at some Wahoo and late steam action. The weatherman gave us a short window so we headed off shore in a NW 3 foot chop. Started putting lines out and got to the 3rd line and the long port rigger went off. A large Wahoo took off for the horizon slashing across the surface. After a 20 minute battle and a lot of head shaking he came up and threw the hook 20 feet from the boat. We put the lines out again and before we got 2 out another.. (Read More)

  • Hi folks, Capt. David here with this weeks outdoors report. The bite is slowing down a little but there are still plenty of fish biting. The spots are still around in the surf and sound and some are big. Lots of Speckled trout and Redfish are biting in the sound and surf. Just off the beach on the ledges the Gray Trout are tearing it up. Blues are everywhere and all sizes. Use a short wire leader if you keep getting bit off. The water temps are cooling off pretty fast and are in the mid to low 60’s.. (Read More)

  • Fall Fishing is in Full Swing - Posted to Rod-Man Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • Hi Folks, We are in full swing with fall fishing. The trout bite has been on fire, the flounder are BIG and the reds are sporadic. When the fish adjust to our first really cool snap, fishing should explode. Now here’s my report: Inshore: Trout fishing is fantastic. While fishing with Wayne and Dave during the Cape Fear Red-Trout Tournament we caught 13 trout and had a nice surprise of a 5.25 pound flounder…all on artificials. We were pretty high on the leader board but for several reasons, including the weather, we did not.. (Read More)

  • Carolina Beach Fishing Report - 09/08/08 - Posted to Charlie\'s Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • The fishing is really starting to take off, we’ve had nice catches of over the slot Red Fish, Big Blues and huge Sharks.  The Flounder bite has slowed a bit due to the weather and extra high tides but I expect it to pick back up soon.  When it does I expect to start seeing some really nice catches as these fish will start feeding for the fall. This month and October will be some of the best fishing.  So don’t miss this opportunity for a big red or that of a doormat Flounder. • Coastal Carolina Gulfstream Fishing - Posted to OnMyWay Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • Nice sea conditions have allowed going to the gulf stream. Catch of blackfin tuna, wahoo and mahi! A blue marlin was hooked at the 100 fathom curve. The fishing should only get better and was told the yellow fin were down off of Charleston last week. They should be making their way north in the next couple of weeks. The blackfin were caught way back behind the boat! Long lines were 200 plus yards out. Light leader and small baits were the ticket. Sreader bar rigs also scored well on the tuna! Closer in caught grouper and snaller on the way home... (Read More)

  • Winter Fishing - Posted to Cape Fear Coastal Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • The beautiful thing about the Carolina coast, is that there is always a fish that you can catch. Right now, it is grouper time. Along with Grouper, there are snapper, Black Sea Bass, and Grunts to be caught. IF you find the fish it can be non-stop action all day. The best thing about it is that all of those fish also make great table fare. The Striped Bass are also biting well this time of the year, and they can provide a fun, hard fight. Book your summer trips now, and gurantee your spot. Capt. Owen Cape Fear.. (Read More)

  • Trophy Size Tuna & Wahoo In The Gulf Stream - Posted to Seagull Bait and Tackle Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • It’s time for Spanish Mackerel and I’m here to tell you there are plenty out there. The piers are getting their share of Spanish. The size is still a little small. The biggest I have heard of was around one and a half pounds. Five to ten miles out there are plenty of mid-size King Mackerel around the fifteen-pound range. On the bottom, Black Bass and Snapper are really starting to bite. If you run to the Gulf Stream, well, that’s another story. Plenty of Tuna and Wahoo and some are trophy size. The surf has been producing some.. (Read More)
