  • Fishing Report 7-03-2008 - Posted to LiveLine Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • Took a family in from Texas visiting for the holiday weekend on a live bait trip. The nice thing for a change I caught a few nice pogies for live bait. Headed out 20 miles in 2 to 3 foot seas and decide to start the day with a AJ work out. It took a little while to get them interested because the ocean was flat and a lot of bait around. Hooked a lot of fish but broke off more than we landed. The lady angler did a great job on a nice 25 lb Cobia. We also.. (Read More)

  • Good Fishing 4th of July Week - Posted to Rod-Man Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • Hi Folks, We have had a few days of breezy weather but not real bad, and things have calmed back down shaping things up for a nice holiday weekend. I had a day off yesterday and enjoyed some early morning topwater action with redfish. Now here’s my report:Redfishing has heated up and fish are biting very well. Live bait has moved into the area and the reds seem to like it. Flounder are doing well near the inlets and some are biting in Snow’s Cut and the river. A few big bluefish in the 6 pound range have been terrorizing.. (Read More)

  • Reel Adventure 131 LB Shark! - Posted to Reel-Adventure Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • Today I had John Ribble and Paul Rocha and his son aboard for the third year in a row shark fishing. These are some awesome guys and I look foward to our trip every year as much as they do. We just click and a good time is had by all! In 2006 we slayed them and they were hooked from there on! 2007 we missed out due to no shrimp boats that day. Well today I was able to redeem myself and it was a huge relief to do so. The first 3 hits on 5o lb stand up.. (Read More)

Inshore bluefish, red & black drum, speckled trout, flounder, a few small Virginia mullet, & croaker. Offshore on the bottom snapper, red & gag grouper, beeliners, black bass, grunt, & sharks. Fishing tip of the week: Inshore it’s been a little slow this past week. I think this has a lot to do with a low pressure that has been hanging over us. As soon as the white shrimp & plenty of mullet minnow show up.. (Read More)

  • Seahawk Inshore Fishing Report 6/21/08 - Posted to Seahawk Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • The inshore fishing continues to be good with catches of red drum, speckled trout, flounder, black drum, sheephead, spanish mackerel and bluefish. I have been concertrating my efforts on redfish and speckled trout lately and picking up a few flounder, black drum, ladyfish, and bluefish mixed in. The spanish mackerel have been thick right off the beach. The speckled trout bite has slacked off a bit but we are still catching them on the nicer days with light winds. The redfish bite has been good. We just have to cover some water and locate the small schools around oyster points and docks. Some.. (Read More)

The Spanish mackerel have still been biting good to great on most days.  Most of the Spanish are biting Clark spoons trolled behind #1 planner’s.  The Clark spoons that are working the best for us are sizes; 00.. • Coastal Carolina Gulfstream Fishing - Posted to OnMyWay Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • Nice sea conditions have allowed going to the gulf stream. Catch of blackfin tuna, wahoo and mahi! A blue marlin was hooked at the 100 fathom curve. The fishing should only get better and was told the yellow fin were down off of Charleston last week. They should be making their way north in the next couple of weeks. The blackfin were caught way back behind the boat! Long lines were 200 plus yards out. Light leader and small baits were the ticket. Sreader bar rigs also scored well on the tuna! Closer in caught grouper and snaller on the way home... (Read More)

  • Winter Fishing - Posted to Cape Fear Coastal Charters Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • The beautiful thing about the Carolina coast, is that there is always a fish that you can catch. Right now, it is grouper time. Along with Grouper, there are snapper, Black Sea Bass, and Grunts to be caught. IF you find the fish it can be non-stop action all day. The best thing about it is that all of those fish also make great table fare. The Striped Bass are also biting well this time of the year, and they can provide a fun, hard fight. Book your summer trips now, and gurantee your spot. Capt. Owen Cape Fear.. (Read More)

  • Surf fishing in duck really turned on over the past two days. Black drum, puppy drum, bluefish, sea mullet, and trout have all made a great showing. Jay Bender reported catching 18 speckled trout last night behind the Hampton Inn, and catching 25 behind Sharky’s this morning. The Sea Hag with Captain Frank McCargo fished a half day trip this morning and caught a limit of nice sized king mackerel, a nice jack, and a black tip shark. Frank was fishing at the AR145. • Trophy Size Tuna & Wahoo In The Gulf Stream - Posted to Seagull Bait and Tackle Fishing Report by CCCB Press
  • It’s time for Spanish Mackerel and I’m here to tell you there are plenty out there. The piers are getting their share of Spanish. The size is still a little small. The biggest I have heard of was around one and a half pounds. Five to ten miles out there are plenty of mid-size King Mackerel around the fifteen-pound range. On the bottom, Black Bass and Snapper are really starting to bite. If you run to the Gulf Stream, well, that’s another story. Plenty of Tuna and Wahoo and some are trophy size. The surf has been producing some.. (Read More)
